As you(th) like it is a dance performance for upper secondary school students about the body that is being looked at, and the responsibility of the one who looks. How do we see ourselves and each other? What happens when a body is watched, interpreted or judged? And what is the difference between being seen and being available to others?

As you(th) like it explores how social media, cultural images and expectations shape the way we understand bodies, gender, sexuality and relationships. Through dance, music, costume and an immersive scenography, the audience becomes part of a situation being explored together. Rather than offering answers, the performance invites the audience to experience these questions physically and to look at the act of looking from a different perspective.

As you(th) like it is a production developed for young audiences within Mirte Bogaert’s long-term artistic research project As you like it. The performance is created specifically for non-performance spaces, like school gymnasiums, transforming a space into an intimate world shared by the performer and the audience.

After the performance, audiences are invited to take part in a facilitated conversation, taking point of departure in a specific developed card game, opening up space for different perspectives, questions and reflections on bodies, boundaries and how we relate to one another.
